As Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at the Law Offices of Paul P. Cheng & Associates (PPRCLAW), Ainy Gu has been the driving force behind the firm’s transformation from a boutique legal practice into a full-service litigation and business law firm serving clients throughout Southern California. With over 15 years of leadership at PPRCLAW, she brings deep operational expertise, extensive media experience, and a strategic approach to the firm's growth, performance, and public presence.
In addition to her leadership at PPRCLAW, Ainy serves as a Commissioner on the State Bar of California's Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE Commission), which evaluates candidates under consideration for judicial appointment by the Governor of California. Her service on the Commission reflects her broader commitment to the integrity of California's legal system and to public service. Her JNE Commission service is undertaken in her individual capacity and is independent of her role at PPRCLAW.
A veteran journalist and media strategist, Ainy continues to serve as a prime-time news anchor and political correspondent, specializing in complex legal and public affairs reporting. She brings this rare dual perspective to the legal field—guiding PPRCLAW's strategic communications, brand positioning, and reputation management. with a journalist’s instinct for narrative and a strategist’s eye for public perception.
At the firm, Ainy oversees end-to-end operations, including infrastructure development, HR, finance, marketing, bilingual communications, and client experience. Her leadership has been instrumental in scaling the firm’s operations while preserving its core values: integrity, service, and legal excellence.

Born in China and raised in Japan, Ainy’s multicultural upbringing informs her leadership style and approach to client engagement.. As the head of the firm's bilingual and bicultural engagement initiatives. Ainy has played a key role in making legal services accessible to diverse communities, especially first-generation immigrants and underserved communities. Her work has helped expand PPRCLAW's presence across Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, and beyond.
Ainy holds an MBA from Pepperdine University's Graziadio Business School, with a focus on Entrepreneurship and Strategic Management, and a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism from California State University, Long Beach. Her interdisciplinary background spanning business, journalism, law, and public service enables her to approach organizational leadership from multiple perspectives and implement systems designed to strengthen both client experience and long-term scalability.
